GUT HEALING RECIPES

When it comes to our health, keeping our guts healthy is incredibly important. The trouble is that there is so much about the gut that knowing what to eat and what to do can be a little overwhelming.


Having a healthy gut contributes to our whole body. It is linked to having a strong immune system, healthy brain, mood, effective digestion, and is also linked to prevention of certain cancers and diseases.



Important things to improve your gut health:

Add probiotics/prebiotics in your daily routine

Add more insoluble fiber

Reduce your sugar intake

Get more god quality sleep

Add in exercise regularly

Reduce your stress levels

Avoid overusing antibiotics if possible


 

1. Gut healing smoothie

1/4 cup frozen wild blueberries

1/4 cup frozen raspberries

1/4 cup fresh strawberries

1/2 apple of choice cut up

1 scoop collagen

1 tsp chia seeds

water (to your desired consistency)


These specific fruits are high in #antioxidants, high in fiber, and collagen is great for healing the stomach lining.



2. Sausage + Sweet potato soup

1 cup chicken bone broth

2 cups vegetable stock

1 sweet potato

2-3 cups spinach

3-4 links of chicken sausage

3 cloves minced fresh garlic

salt + pepper to taste

1 tsp turmeric

2 tbsp granulated onion

You can also add in some lentils for extra fiber


heat vegetable stock and bone broth in medium size pan

peel sweet potato, poke holes in it with a fork and microwave for about 3-5 minutes

cut up sweet potato into small cubes and add to soup

chop chicken sausage in small cubes and add to soup

after about 25 minutes add spinach and spices and cook for another 10-15 minutes


bone broth is extremely beneficial for your gut health, it has #collagen which helps heal your stomach lining and is loaded with #vitamins and #minerals. the vegetables are great sources of fiber and nutrients and the turmeric is a great anti inflammatory spice.


3. Yogurt parfait

1 cup of your choice of #yogurt (regular, greek, dairy free, etc.)

top with raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, sliced almonds, flax seed, granola, and drizzle with honey


These specific ingredients chosen are all very beneficial for healing your gut and the yogurt gives your body probiotics, and the honey gives your body #prebiotics (which feed the probiotics). This is a great breakfast option.


Start to incorporate these recipes into your daily/weekly routine and I bet you will start to see a difference in how you feel...for the better. Healing our guts should be a priority in our lives, and keeping it healthy as well.
